    Baldrick,

Is the chart you started still available or implemented further? Might be good for directing members to who are venturing into Authoring. It's hard to know or remember which programs handle what without downloading trial versions to be able to help. :c)

    Thanks.

P.S. I know you've been busy on the Programming side of things. Just wondered. :c)

Look on the tools page. You can select the feature you want, and it shows the authoring tools that have it.

I keep adding my updates to it as I find time. And I'll keep doing every time new info comes my way unless Baldrick cuts me off.

Don't be confused, that's his baby, I'm just helping with it to fill in the blanks on some of the programs. :P

Ahh, I see. :c) This was an all-in-one-page chart that had all programs in all features at a glance. :c)

Don't know if you got a peek at it when he was developing it. I just wanted to use it to help respond to posts quickly by looking at the one page. I already do too much tracking down for strangers as it is. :cD

Kidding, but you know what I mean. :c)

yes, i need help adding features. The table is only for adding features for now and it should look like this:

if not you have a crappy browser(not ie6 ) or too low screen resolution.

  10. First, it'd be nice to keep the versions on the table as well. Features change as a program is updated, and it would be clear that Umpty 4.0 was listed in the table, but the table hasn't been updated for Umpty 5.0 yet. This is also important when they change the product line as they go. For example, MyDVD now has three different "flavors," MyDVD 5, MyDVD 5 Deluxe, and MyDVD Studio Deluxe 5 (http://www.sonic.com/products/mydvd/default.asp).

Also, for reference, it'd be nice to have a link to something that supports the existence or non-existence of a feature. For example, two of the three new MyDVD "flavors" can encode two-channel Dolby Digital (AC3). The above URL is the reference.

    How about adding:

    CLOSED CAPTION LINE 21 importing.
    COMMAND SEQUENCE programming.
    ICBM target coordinates:
    26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W

  12. And some sub-sections of some features, like AC3 2.0 vs. 5.1 encoding.
