    How about Tmpgenc? It has an MPEG Util submenu which is really handy for splitting, joining, demuxing and muxing MPEG files.

    It's free to try and the MPEG util portion never expires.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

    TMPGEnc will only do it if the files have identical frame and bit rates. Stick with Video Studio. It's free for thirty days.

    What do you mean by "it"? Video Studio or TMPGEnc?
    Hello.

  8. How are they different? I know when making a DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author, inorder to put different video types/different resolution, different framerates, you need to put each on its own track, they will still play after the other, but they need their own tracks.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

    Why? I admit that in a perfect world, this would be true, but even I ( ) have at times found that I had to decrease the bit rate a little to get the second part of a 2 SVCD rip to fit on a 800 MB CD. So, just beacuse they are 2 parts of the same movie doesn't make them identical to the point where TMPGEnc treats them as such.

    I don't think it matters - if the mpegs aren't identical (specswise) they can't be joined to one mpeg (without reencoding). I may be wrong, but I doubt it...

  13. I agree with you mats, without reencoding it is not possible

    From a merge guide for DVTool:
    You have to make sure that the videos you are combining are encoded and multiplexed in the same way. You can use MPEG Properties to verify that.

    Unless you encoded the files in TMPGEnc, it usually won't merge them.

    If you making a DVD, you don't need to merge them, quit trying and make them sequential chapters.
