I was wondering why you need to extract the audio to a WAV if your AVI file has VBR audio? What happens with I convert the AVI to MPEG without extracting the audio?

Give it a shot...if you use TMPGEnc you'll find out that it does not handle it very well, A/V out of sync etc.

Well, I did it and played it on the computer. It was pretty in sync. I tried pausing it as well as moving the tracker to a different position and the audio moves in sync with the video. Weird. I have yet to try it on a DVD player.
