    Hi all,

    I have WinDVR 1.5 full mode and its scheduling function has always worked perfectly;

    Still, as I've noticed that it insists on reducing the line-in volume by itself, I downloaded the trial version of v 3, which fixes it.....

    On the other hand, the scheduler doesn't work in v 3; the aplication launchs but nothing happens - while in v 1.5 it works perfectly;

    Of course I won't buy the full version without having this clarified, I e-mailed Intervideo but had no reply, I think they only support registered users, not "trial" ones, which is a shame - how will I order it if I can't make them a question ?

    Any help will be very apreciated,

    Thanks to all !

  2. Hello all,
    The WINDVR 3 scheduler function does not work for me either.
    I have tried to manually schedule a recording.
    I have also tried to use the EPG.
    Neither works. The application opens at the schedule time, but the scheduled recording remains in a WAIT state.

    I sent a message to INTERVIDEO technical support on November 6, 2003.
    I received the following reply from one of their support people (Huei):

    "Please download the new trial version after two weeks.
    It should work better."

    They obviously know that there is a problem with the scheduler function.
    I hope they get it fixed soon. I am using an ATI TV Wonder tuner, and this is the only application I've found that works well with the ATI tuner. The recording quality in BEST mode is awesome. The only negative is that the scheduler functionality does not work. But that is a HUGE NEGATIVE!

    I am using WINDOWS XP PRO with ATHLON processor.

    Good luck... I will check back in later with results...

    Hi Kextine,

    Thanks for the update, it's good to know that at least they realize the problem, I also sent them a message and had no reply,

    Well, please, let's keep in touch and check new trial version again in two weeks as they say...

    By the way, have you ever tried ATI MMC scheduler function in MPEG format ? It doesn't work for me...

    Thanks,

    Andre

  4. Andresalles,

    I used to own WINDVR 2. It worked perfectly for me.
    Unfortunately, my hard drive went bad and I had to replace it.
    I tried to get another copy of WINDVR 2, but saw that they are now selling WINDVR 3. I bought upgrade to WINDVR 3 without fully testing it because I had such a good experience with WINDVR 2. Turned out to be a mistake.

    I guess they answered my e-mail because I am a paying customer.
    I'm tempted to use the 14 day money back guarantee, but what the heck, I'll wait it out and give them the benefit of a doubt. Their product is kick-ass except for this one problem.

    I have used the ATI MMC software in the past. I followed the instructions to the letter and still had a heck of a time installing it. After many re-installs, it finally worked (how or why, I don't know). The ATI MMC scheduler function in MPEG format worked for me. I probably wouldn't be any help to you with this because again, I'm not sure how it finally began to work. Overall, I detest ATI's drivers and software. Their customer support is non-existent also. I will never buy another product from ATI.

    I switched from ATI MMC to WINDVR because I thought that WINDVR was superior to the ATI product. The recordings on my machine using ATI MMC were sub-par, while WINDVR recordings were of excellent quality.

    Good luck, and yes, I'll let you know how it goes with me in 2 weeks.

    have you heard back from Intervideo ?

  6. Andresalles,
    New version of WINDVR has not been posted.
    Somebody else suggested doing the following:

    Open the DATE/TIME settings in Windows.
    Under TIME ZONE disable "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes".

    I tried this and the scheduler finally worked.

    However, only if I manually schedule the recording myself.
    If I try to use the EPG to schedule a recording, I receive the following WinIEPG error message boxes:

    "Please enter an integer between 1 and 255"
    "Load data failed, please try again"

    <Sigh> If it's not one thing, it's another!

    If anybody has any insight into this problem, please post.

    Thanks!

    Kextine,

    The version I donloaded around a month ago is larger than 11 MB, while the defective one I downloaded by October is less than that, so they have changed something.

    I don't live in US and have never tried EPG, anyway, with the new version, manual schedules used to work fine until I installed WinDVDRecorder to try, and since them the schedulers don't work anymore.
    I think that each sw instaled its own scheduler and messed up;

    I tried uninstaling both, cleaning registry, etc; and install only WinDVDRecorder - it didn't work though

    I think that, to accurately test if any of the softwares is defective, I'd have to reformat my HD, instal only one software and try;

    I really can't agree with Intervideo's behaviour, cause it seems they don't reply to trial users, and I think they're too concentrated on their famous DVD player and neglects attention to other software.
    If they don't reply me, I won't buy any software cause I can't know if they are defective or not.

    Zetti
