I've rented about 15 DVD and own about 10 of my own, and all the DVDs will play.

Yesterday I rented the Gandhi DVD from the local library, and it won't play.

The player just sits there. It doesn't auto-play.

I finally pushed the PLAY button, and then the menu comes up. But I can't access any of the menu choices. If I push the PLAY button again, the video freezes.

I've turned the unit on and off. I've tried re-seating the DVD in the tray. I even tried wiping the DVD with a soft cloth. Nothing works.

    Any idea what is happening.

  2. This is called non violent civil disobedience. It will eventually cause the dvd to split into two regions but only after much relocation and bloodshed.

    LOL

    Anyways ...

Is it just the GANDHI DVD that is giving you trouble? If so you did say that it was a rental correct? My guess is it just got scratched up from being rented so much. Only thing you can really do is try to clean it ... even if it already looks clean ... and try again.
