Instant Copy 8

Has anyone used Instant Copy 8 yet? I use V 7 and I'm mostly happy with it except it's pretty slow.

V 8 supposted to much faster. Anyone got it? and if you do,Is it any faster
than V 7?

It has a new fast mode that is much faster - about as fast as CloneDVD or DVDShrink (in normal mode). But the quality in that mode is about equal with those other apps too, which kills part of the allure of using IC in the first place - picture quality.

IC8 still has the high quality mode, but its pretty much the same speed as IC7. And though it takes longer, it's generally considered (along with DVDShrink's Deep Analysis mode) better looking than the 30 minute transcoders.

I really like version 7, I figured any thing faster would have a drop in quality. I just let it run over night or while I'm at work.

I think the sizing in IC8 is a little easier to manage than with IC7 and especially in Speed mode

Unless you are using the high speed mode (which the quality isn't as good) the speed is about the same.

The plus is that I find that IC8 produces better quality than IC7.

I encoded a backup of Stargate SG1 Season 3 Disc 1 with IC7 to and IC8 to see which was faster....both has about the same speed....but the picture quality on IC8 was superior
