  1. why does tmpg encoder crash on certain files whilst encoding?
    it gets to around 28% then crashes.... i tried looking for bad frames in virtual dub but it said there weren't any... i raised my Directshow Multimeadia File Reader to priority 3... i don't know what else to do... can some one please give me advice?

    They may be corrupted. Suggest you use the Source Range function to remove the corrupted part.

  6. the last post is correct.

    albeit programs like divfix won't detect any bad frames, the video is still corrupted. you just gotta find out when the error starts and where it ends, and cut that part out.

    i've had the same problem with various avis. there's nothing you can to avoid cutting the part out, unless you download the same video made by a different author.
