  1. I'm trying to establish the following simple point prior to buying a DMRE60 and would really appreciate any advice.

I want to transfer SVHS tapes to RAM. My simple but crucial editing system will comprise stopping the transfer every time I've gone too far, rewinding the disc a few seconds and continuing to record [thus erasing the last few seconds]. So I'm transferring most of the tape but using the RAM erase facility to cut out many small sections as I go along. This is exactly how I'd transfer tape to tape.

Will these edits be smooth and invisible? Will I end up with an unbroken sequence on disc with no signs at all that I have re-recorded at many points. If there is any sign of breaks on the final product that would be useless. I am also concerned that maybe there is some sign on the screen of chapter marks or whatever. I want to end up with one long sequence as far as the viewer is concerned.

Unfortunately no hard drive machine such as the DMRE100 is available here so I have to do the editing on the RAM disc. Using computers is not an option I can consider!! I don't have the skills or patience.

    All advice will be welcome.
