  1. Ok guys I am feeling stupid here I have used tmpgenc in the past and not problems but I all reformatted and doing it over again and instead of ripping my own downloaded the avi's for the movies I own.

Tell you what I can not get one stinking avi to open with tmpg... I don't get it... I followed all the directions.. gspot says I have 2 or 3 that will work and I have a nice fat divx and nimo codec pack and can play any movie I ever attempt or video file.

But ANYTHING i try to open thats avi says file type cannot be opened or unsopported. I went through the tmpg common errors and tried that and downloaded a DV codec and tried the EV settings in tmpg and put it up to 1 and nothing seems to make a diff...

anyone have any suggestions for me?

lol.. I feel like such a noob!

  2. Read the avi to mpeg guide on here. Try putting directshow in EV to 1.

It might be because you dont have codec install as well. Check it. Try the K++ codec its pretty good.
