  1. I burned some Hi-8 video to my DVDR75 (+R) recorder today for a friends school project and as it turns out the finalized disc can't be read in her Dell laptop.

I need to copy it to a -R disc but don't know the correct way because it appears the files are a bit different that copying a regulare movie dvd?

I have a NEC1300a DVD burner and a regular DVD player in the PC.

I have DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab (trial), DVD Shrink, and TMPGE loaded to my PC...no Nero or anything similar.

Any thoughts on how to copy this beast...?

Can DVD Shrink or DVD decryptor rip it?

  5. When I put the disc into Decrypter it makes it to 99% "complete" stage then gives an I/O error. I stops 2mb short of completion. (Transferring it from disc to HD)

I see that it lists the DVD as "Philips_DVD_VR.ISO" if that changes things.

Do the .bup files mess things up perhaps??

Here' the official errors on Decrypter:

E 18:41:40 Failed to read Sector 325760 - No Seek Complete
E 18:41:40 Failed to Extract Sectors!

I just copied the VIDEO_TS folder to hard drive and created a new DVD-R with RecordNow that came with my Sony DRU500AX. All the info for DVD players is in that folder. I did this with a DVD+RW recorded ona Sony RDRGX 7 DVD recorder to play on a DVD player that did not like the other disk.

  9. Just one more update what worked for me.

    1. Recorded on Philips 75/17 to DVD+RW
    2. Copy to new DVD-R with Nero's Wizard DVD-to-DVD.

    Good luck.

  10. A friend of mone copy some TV show from the UK and burned them and some of the disc I could not rip. These show's came from UK cable SCI-FI channel. I found using Nero was the best way to copy them. Some time's thing are just wacky.
