  1. I would like to resize using virtualdub and frameserve into tmpgenc. When i use tmpgenc to resize, I use FullScreen keep aspect ratio.

The source divx, to be converted into svcd, is 720x480 23.976 fps. How do I set the resize filter and cropping settings so that I get the same aspect ratio? If i set the new ratio as 480x480 for ntsc, I get a square instead of the rectangular video. DOn't know what numbers to enter.

If the only thing you are using VirtualDub for is to resize then ... well ... there is no need to use it. You are better off opening the DivX directly with TMPGEnc.

SVCD is 480x480 so yes, it is a square but when it plays back it gets stretched out so even though it looks strange at 480x480 it will look normal durring playback.

Just use FULL SCREEN for the video arrange method (at least in this case since the original is full screen at 720x480) and it should be fine.

Probably faster to do it with an AviSynth AVS script. I've done that before.

In fact I hardly ever use VirtualDubMod for frameserving. I do everything in an AviSynth AVS script and just use VirtualDubMod for getting the trim values for my captures which I then insert into the script using the excellent scrip capabilities of VirtualDubMod.
