  1. Hey...

Yesterday i installed a DVD-RW drive (LiteOn LDW-411S) and since then, my DVD-ROM drive get's recognised as a CD-ROM drive by WinXP Pro.
It indeed does not play DVD's anymore, it just keeps spinning, and windows locks up.

    Any ideas on this? thanks!

  2. Most likely you have both drives installed as a primary or slave so you should check the drive jumpers to be sure one is set as a primary the other a slave.

thanks bob, but that's not it. I made absolutely sure that my DVD-ROM is master, and the DVD-RW is slave. 100% sure about that.

And as i said, the drive still works, it just isn't able to read DVD's anymore. It does still play Audio CD's and CD-ROM's.

  4. Install Force ASPI 4.60 NT that should take care of the problem.
