  1. i have used pinnacle instant copy v8 a few weeks ago and had no problems whatsoever. but recently i had to install a fresh copy of windows xp pro due to some other issues. and when i installed my copy of instantcopy v8 i cant seem to get it to work right. when its analyzing the video sets i dont see the images being displayed on the pinnacle window, which is pretty strange sense i could see the images when i had it on my old windows xp. and i selected the option so that i could see the analyzing images being displayed and that still didnt work. and i have another problem and that is, that it completely stops analyzing all of a sudden. wich is strange again sense i have never had any of these problems with it when it was installed on my old windows xp before. then i thought it must be something wrong with the dvd, so i ripped two other ones and they both gave me the same problems. so i finally uninstalled it and then i re-installed it and had the same problems. but i got these weird messages after i had to restart my pc. it said something about a driver prlblem or something along those lines. so i want to know how to fix it if there is a way any help is appreciated

can you uninstall it again and then do a system restore to before you installed it?

what did you click when it asked about the driver?

you may have to unistall it then manually remove the IC8 references from the registry and try to do a fresh install

it sometimes does get messy installing IC but you can normally pick up the pieces

  3. i realized now that the message only comes on if i install the virtual drive with instant copy as well. so now i only chose to install the instant copy and i didnt receive that driver message again. but i still cant see the images being displayed in the windows and it stills stops completely when its ananlyzing the video sets. so how do manually remove the IC8 references from the registry so that i can do a fresh install? thanx in advance.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VOB\CD Wizard\7.5 is the IC8 reg entry

it may also be in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VOB\7.5

I would just uninstall IC8 and delete the complete VOB folders in the registry in both then reinstall IC8 and not bother with the virtual drive. There are also Pinnacle folders in the Softawre folders and again I used to just blitz these also

I just can't remember exactly how to do it now though but maybe some else can knows better

also get hold of ICHSE 1.41 HERE if you haven't already

the VOB folders I am talking about are the ones in the registry

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VOB
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VOB

do you know how to open regedit?

    no probs

just click START then RUN and type regedit in the small run window that pops up and this will open regedit

then you can browse to the folders as you will see them listed on the left but you must be very careful in what you are doing. Maybe it's best you read up on it first unless you feel confident enough to do it now

all you do is expand the folders and then you will see the VOB folders. Rght click the VOB folder and delete it and od it for both. Just close regedit as it will instantly update the registry anyway and that's it

it's simple but may be a bit tricky to understand at first so again be careful

you can just delete the complete VOB folder as long as you have all your IC discs etc as a new one will be created anyway when you install again

just blitz the lot even blitz the Pinnacle folders which are in the Software folders. That's if you have only ever installed IC of course as you may have other Pinnacle products that would be affected if you did delete the Pinnacle folder

all these folders you are deleting will all be replaced anyway

but once you have deleted them all, make a restore point so you can always go back if something goes wrong during install

there's also other reg hacks to fix it but at the minute I'm at a loss as it's 2 months since I have been playing with IC8 and I cannot remember offhand

try the Pinnacle forum as I'm sure it's on there somewhere LINK

  18. If you can not see the "play" button and the "stop" button in the preview window of IC, the problem is from DPI setting in Windows is too large. Do as follow:

Right click on any blank area of the screen. The Display Properties window would pop up.

Click settings tab > Advanced > DPI Settings

Set it to 'Normal Size". Exit and while still in Display Properties, click on the "Appearance" tab. Set the Font Size to "Normal".

Exit completely and re-start Windows. There's a very good chance that you'd be able to preview your tiltles in IC now.

  20. hey mackemx i just realized something on my control panel as i was deleting IC8. the program was only about 19mbs and i know that that's not right at all. the overall programs size is around 60mbs or so give or take or something along those lines. so i was wondering if that is the correct size or is the installation process not installing everything that is needed. thanx in advance!!!
