Hello again![]()
There's something weird about my captured files :
I can preview them fine in Adobe Premiere Pro. I have sound and video, all working fine.
But when I add them to the timeline and preview my work, there's no sound. (And I did ask to add both audio and video)
My other audio channels like music and stuff do work
only the captured audio of my video clips do not work.
When I mute all my audio channels excepts the channel which should play the captured video audio I still have no sound...
I thought maybe because my audio is captured in 441000 khz and my project is in 48000 khz could be the problem but a kind of intro clip I use has also 441000 khz and it works fine
So my next guess was the the captured files have bad sound, but why can I play them fine on the left side of the monitor then ????
I hope this is a bit clear to understand....

Same problem, using version 5.5 i think, on a Mac computer at school. It worked fine, until I moved an audio track, then it went down the toilet and stopped playing the audio.
Are you using a PC or a Mac, it looks like we have a common problem? -
well I use a PC...
but I was on the forum of Adobe and it seems we're not the only ones having this problem...

this is a bug in premiere pro then.... -
seems that on the adobe forum they can't help me either....
here some of the findings I did :
I just reprocessed the files with virtualdub and now the sound is working.
It seems that the compression used during the capture isn't supported by Premiere Pro...
I changed the compression to Huffyuv
it was UYVY, microsoft YUV
and strangly enough it works.... this is wierd because the video always worked but the audio didn't and by changing the video compression, it works now... (cinepak works as well )
the only other big difference between the working file and the file where the audio doesn't work is :
*file working alright :
"file contain 1 video and 1 audio track
interleave: 1: 1.03"
*file where audio doesn't work:
""file contain 1 video and 1 audio track
interleave: 1: 2.50"
but I don't understand this, maybe someone does... -
I had a weird clicking/popping problem on the left channel when building a video/slide project in Adobe Premier 6. I know it's not the same problem that you have (no sound) but ... maybe, it's related. I was building my presentation with MP3 sound ... which is supported ... even by my authoring program .... but the conversion in the burning processed messed it up. Wasn't bad ... but the customer wouldn't pay for it. I converted my MP3s to AIFFs, exported and reburned and the problem went away! Just an idea in case your sound starts out in the MP3 format.

will remember that,
but for the time being, I'm not using Mp3 as compression for the audio
I use PCM right now...
i'm going to capture these files again with premiere and see if it makes any difference...
