  1. I am a video newbie. I am having a new system built for me by a local dealer. He is recommending the MSI DR4-A for the DVDRW. Any experience out there with this particular unit? Thanks.

So far, there is only one listing from a member/owner on that model. https://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php?DVDnameid=166&Search=Search&list=0#comments

Doesn't appear many own one compared to lots of other models. Maybe more owners will appear in time.

    Good luck. :c)
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

The MSI DR4-A is basically an OEM model of the Optorite DD0201 (a newer version of the DD0203), so you can do a search on the Optorite model to find more info. Personally I would not recommend this burner because of some unresolved firmware issues after using the DD0203 for the past 4 months, especially these days you can get a better burner with a similar price. Either the NEC ND-1300A or Pioneer DVR-106D will be a much better choice than the Optorite/MSI model. Just my two cents.
