Hello all, my fiance has just returned to the States from Japan (her native country) where she brought several DVDs. Each of these DVD's has English subtitles, but the menus are mostly written in Japanese, with a few in Korean.

Is their a way that I can substitute the foreign language menus with English language menus (translated by my fiance), without affecting the authoring properties? Basically, I want the DVD disc to function just as it does now, with the only change being the new menus I would create using Fireworks (a program just like Photoshop). I don't want to lose the synched English subtitles.

I've ripped plenty of DVDs to back up my collection using tools like DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink 3.0, but I haven't authored a disc on my own yet, so my knowledge of this process is limited. So maybe swapping menus, while retaining the video and subtitle synch, isn't possible.

    Anyway, thanks for your time.

    Mick

Also, a couple of the discs my fiance bought are in PAL (she was also in Europe) and I'd like to convert them to NTSC. The problem with these PAL discs is that the menus are in Dutch and I'd love to swap these to English (as well as convert the video to NTSC). Can I convert the format of these discs while maintaining the full contents of the disc (minus the file size shrinking, if necessary)?

    Thanks again,

    Mick
