I've recently installed mIRC on my computer at work to make full use of the T-1 bandwidth for leeching. However, the computer is connected through a network.
MY PROBLEM: The company's firewall seems to block the port mIRC employs to communicate with other computers. Is there any way around this? Can I reconfigure the MIRC program to use another port. I have internet access-- as this post attests-- and seem to be able to download software-- as my installation of mIRC attests-- the problem is accessing the Internet Relay Chat.
I've tried to alter the connection port in the options window to 80 but then I get "UNABLE TO FIND FIREWALL ADDRESS ERROR". Any suggestion on how to configure the program.
