Yeah, I doubt that the front five in many teams can count as high as 15 or 16

Scotland are just warming up.
by the 2nd round we will be in top form and ready to beat the Australians.
And of course for the showdown it will be us agains England and we will thrash them by 80+-5 to Englands 5+-5.
This is destiny, I saw it in a puddle whilst walking my dog. -

Like the matches are even carried in the states. you have to have a Tivo just to watch them. Rugby certainly isn't dull!!
Now, how about some Australian Football????? There's a Darwinisticly brutal game.....To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -

I love Rugby. But in the states, it's not on during 'prime time'. Actually Rugby and certain other 'worldly' events are what led me to get a capture card in the first place. Now I just capture them and watch them at my leisure. Downside is a lot of good matches jsut aren't on.
Soccer is still boring :PTo Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -

Craig,
Was that "American Samoa"?
Is the 1000-1 on them or on US team?
There are a few more Soccer fans here than "that unreconstructed rebel" will ever know.
Rugby, now, is maybe bigger than even I think it is, as far as the US goes. I ddon't know if I can get it on my cable set up. Have to look. Course it's on so late, I'll be in bed.
Should go to one world time, like in the DST time thread.
Cheers,
George
edited DSL to DST, not trying to cover any tracks, just bad typing. -
I will bet for my home team, France, definitively an outsider.
Would not bet on England. Their latest match was uninpressive, and typically their rugby, although efficient, is boring. If Ireland were to beat France, they will be a problem for England.
My second choice has got to be New Zealand !!!
It is a shame to need cable to watch rugby here. Especially when the US had their home team playing, and a decent one as well. -

I remember an Amerian friend came here to Oz on a visit a while back and we took him to see a rugby match....his comment was "Where are the helmets? These guys are nuts!!!"Part of me was hoping that the yanks would have a few wins this time around......maybe it's part of the whole 'go for the underdog' mentality.

Judging by Wales' performance against NZ today, the Wales v England match isn't the foregone conclusion it was made out to be. But then, Wales have only beaten England once in the past 10 years or so......

Craig,
I must have missed a "0" in the first odds post you did. Thought you said US was 1000 to 1.
10,000, I'm tempted to spring for a buck.
Hell, I haven't even been able to find it on my cable service.
Anyone know where Comcast, near Pittsburgh, PA, might have put it?
Cheers,

For a Northerner such as yourself, being Welsh is something to aspire to!
No doubt Wales will get their arses kicked next weekend, but it should be more of a match than most encounters in the past decade (and even the ones Wales won were by one point only - 1993 and 1999).Regards,

Rugby???????
