    is there one programme that will convert divx and xvid to mpeg 2 so i can burn to a dvd
    cheers

    Maybe.

    Yes if they have CBR MP3 audio. Otherwise you will have to convert VBR audio by hand. AC3 Audio you can strip out and use directly.

    This assumes you know how to Author a DVD.

    There is no such thing as a 1-click wonder, there are too many variables involved to work everytime. This all assumes you don't have a bloody clue what you have DivX/XviD wise.

    Get gsopt to find out what file you have.
