  1. I'm going nuts over this problem!

    I've tried to capture some stuff from the VCR with iuVCR and VirtualDub.

    Theese are my settings:
    * Audio/Compression: PCM
    * Video/Format: 640x480 - Video/Compression: UYVY
    * Video/Compression: PICVideo MJPEG Codec
    * Video/Set custom video format: 640x480 - UYVY - YUV 4:2:2 interleaved
    * Capture/Settings: Frame rate 25.000 (PAL)

    I'd like to capture in 640x480 since I'm going to make an DivX .avi

    When I try to capture the movie in iuVCR I have audio/video sync problem issues. I've tried both "Sync using stream offset" and "Audio stream offset Auto". None of them work for me and that's strange since I managed to capture some VCRstuff earlier with my P2 400MHz using "Sync using stream offset" and with perfect audio/video sync results (I now have P4 2.4GHz).

    Also I tried VirtualDub, but there I get loads of dropped frames for some reasons, something I never had with my old P2.

    Why?

    One more thing. After I've captured the movie in 640x480 format and went to VirtualDub for encoding with theese settings:

    * Audio/Full compressing mode/Compression: MPEG Layer - 3 - 44100 Hz, 128kpbs CBR, Stereo
    * Video/Filters/Deinterlace (blend)
    * Video/Compression - DivX Pro 5.0.5 codec - Encoding bitrate 1000kbps.
    * Video/Full processing mode

    Then there are black stripes both on the left and right of the picture. I added the Null transform filter aswell with 512x480 (I cutted out 64 both on the left and right side).

    Is this the correct way to do it?

    When watching the encoded clip in the Windows media player (fullscreen it covers the whole screen correctly). But when playing the clip in the DivX player it has even wider black borders left/right side of the picture if I do not choose TV aspect 4:3, is this correct? Do I always have to choose TV aspect 4:3 instead of leaving at Original aspect when watching the movie fullscreen, or is it wrong by me using the Null transform filter and crop the movie to 512x480?

    Would appreciate help in theese issues

  2. Ok, managed to solve the issues myself...

    I got VirtuaDub working and the audio/sync issue went fine and no dropped frames anylonger

    Only the problem when encoding as I described earlier:

    "Then there are black stripes both on the left and right of the picture. I added the Null transform filter aswell with 512x480 (I cutted out 64 both on the left and right side).

    Still would appreciate help on this issue
