  2. overburn.. hmm. maybe you should read up on overburn. The more you overburn, the more you run the risk of damaging your CD-RW Drive. i cant remember where i read that, but i know its true. Ive heard of people pushing 80mins to 86 and 74 to 79, but the overburn goods are of lesser quality

  3. It's true that Overburning can damage your CD-RW but it actually depends how much you want to overburn. With newer drives, you can overburn a few minutes without any damage to the drive. I had an old HP8200i that I could overburn a few minutes with! Nero is the best (overburning) software in my opinion.

  4. If you get some 99 min cdr's and your cd-writer supports overburning, some can write up to the cdr's full capacity, however most will stop @ about 90 mins, the LG 8080B (IDE) cd writer can write up to 99 mins on a 99 min disc, but only has a 2 meg buffer. But it is pretty cheap aswell.
so do a bit of searching on the net, youll find a more comprehensive answer.

  7. how is that though. i mean 80 min CD's have crapper quality than 74 min. thats why they are cheaper. anyway, im sticking to 74 minute silver silver. they are the best by a long shot

If you guys get the burning program "feurio", it has an overburn test built right in that tests your burner and the media's capabilities.

There's no difference between the discs. 80 min CDs simply have more sectors allocated as writeable, but there is absolutely no difference between those extra 30000 or so sectors and the first 333000 sectors.

  11. Well lets see I have burned over "50" 99min. CD-R's clear upto 99min. with each one looking just as good as any other name brand CD-R, that's burning them with NERO as VCD's and SVCD's. Have tried them in 5 different brands and 10 different model of DVD players each one played them perfect.
I am using the BEST overburner CD Rom, an HP9100b its one of the few DAO supported burners that seem to work flawless with overburning and the 99min. CD-R's. Have tried other brands Sony, Yamaha, Creative Labs each one choked on burning at around 89min. Even tried a newer HP 9500b and it crapped out also, bought another 9100b for my other computer works perfect. Walmart sells them as HP9150 for $99
