hello, everyone.
i wanna ask you about a burning folder name.
when i burn DVD-R or +R, the folder name always be
all capital letter "VIDEO_TS".
i've been thought this is Win's spec.
but some of my friends say it also can burn
with lower case letter like "video_ts" or "Video_Ts".
i'm not sure which is really CORRECT name.
please tell me if someone knows which is correct burning folder name
or is correct spec.
thanks

VIDEO_TS is correct
dvd specs came from unix (IRIX) , caps are importaint ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Also remember to have both VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your disc for best compatibility.
Some older players tweak when a disc does not have an AUDIO_TS folder.
Which software are you using to burn? -
my burning software is NERO6.
sure, i believe that the VIDEO_TS is correct.
and i always burn VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS(file empty) folders together.
but at DVDit!'s FAQ shows "AUDIO_ts" not AUDIO_TS...
i'm not sure but my friend said
when he use Record NOW MAX that software makes a folder named
Video_TS. and of course it has compatibility.
unnn little bit confused...
anyway, thanks for telling me that. -
RecordNow doesn't make'em, you do. And it is VIDEO_TS not ViDeO_tS
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off. -
rider666,
Here's my 2 cents:
* As long as your standalone can recognine your DVDs, it doesn't matter. It proves you have a later model (or smarter) model.
* But if you feel that your authored DVD should be able to play in all your friends, or family members standalone, then stick with the standard to be safe, which is AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.
Cheers, -
oops!
i've just heard of it so i didn't see it actually.
oh it doesn't... little bit amazing.
thanks for show me the screen shot, tompika.
alright, Viper10000
i am sure that the best compatibility is VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS.
thanks.
uunn...
i still wonder why some software companies don't be standardise or use all caps like DVDit!
just curious.
THX guys
