  1. Dammed XVID, before everybody were using DIVX and it was superb format. Then people start to use dammed XVID because it's open source and free and happy . Now everyone's complaining that XVID has problem. Why can't XVID org fix the dammed thing. Previously I had DIVX movies and life where fantastic. Now I have XVID files that gives me headaches and misery. Dammed XVID!! TEMPENC converts the XVID format fine with XVID codec installed. But there will be no sound..... Ridiculous... So again I must ask what's the best program to reconvert XVID back into mpg files.???

If there's no sound it's not because of xvid. Xvid is a video codec, you need to extract the audio to wav and use that as the video source for TMPGEnc. Use Goldwave, just load the avi and save.

  3. Same thing happened to me and by the way is the movie you are encoding in AC3? Fix for this is to go to http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/software2.htm and scroll down to the Filters. Select AudioFilters-download it-extract it-and register it. By the way if you have another AC3 filter the two will conflict and it won't work. Get rid of the other one and everything should be fine.
