  1. I am using Ritek G04 4x discs confirmed 4x with dvdinfo and have tried every firmware up to 1.33 and the hacked version too still can not burn over 1x. The computer is a 2.4ghx with 768 megs of ram and nothing else running. What am I doing wrong??? I have read everything I can find here to no avail. Please help!

    TIA

  2. after you apply the firmware, do you receive confirmation that the firmware has been upgraded.

In dvdinfo (download on the right), what does it say about your burning speed? Aslo, what is the firmware that it lists (is it the latest one, 1.33)?

  6. Ok. Set to PIO and says DMA if available. How do I make it DMA always?

  7. Start - Settings - System -hardware -Device manager -IDE Controller - primary / secondary controller -advanced - DMA if available

    Reboot

If that doesn't work just delete the appropriate primary / secondary controller. Reboot. Then try again- or it can then be already set to DMA.

  10. You are a bunch of geniuses!!! I set my writer to the primary drive (position 0) and the player to secondary and burned a movie in 10 minutes!!! Thanks so much for the tips!
