    It's a non-standard VCD, or basically an mpeg1 that's outside of the strict VCD standards. The bitrate can be higher or lower than the VCD standard of 1150 Kb/s or the resolution could be different as well. I sometimes make VCD's using variable bitrate encoding (VBR) which makes them XVCD's as constant bitrate (CBR) is the standard.
