played in your set top on on your mac?

I've had this problem before and it because of a bad timecode on the mpeg file. This can be fixed by demuxing the second segment and then muxing it again.... usually.

well if you have the originals just demux and remux them.

otherwise, just rip the .mpeg out of the 2nd .bin, demux remux and then rebuild the .bin with VCDToolsX

ZeroSix is saying time code errors of the 2nd mpeg file are most likely causing the problems for you. You correct them by demuxing then instantly remuxing back to a new file!

it is a PiTA process, but it does fix the problem on a LOT of set top players... Apex especially.

  8. Here we go again...

This is what I have done..
    1. vcdtoolx to extract mpeg file from the 2nd bin file
    2. bbdemux to demux video & audio
    3. MissingMpegTools to combine them
This is where I am getting error message saying that audio is not good.

    Also tried this....
    2. ffmpegX to demux video & audio
    3. ffmpegX to mux as VCD
    Here is the error message..
    INFO: [mplex] mplex version 2.2.2 ($Date: 2003/05/13 20:27:15 $)
INFO: [mplex] File /Users/mahmud/Movies/avseq01.mpg-0.m1v looks like an MPEG Video stream.

Try demuxing using ffmpegX instead of bbDemux. I have had a lot of mixed results using bb.

Just demux and re-mux using ff, and post your terminal output.

    Thanks.

    :macks forehead::

    Sorry about that.

Something must seriously be wrong if you are able to demux and not able to remux.

Is the resulting .mp2 file playable in either Quicktime or iTunes, and is it what it is supposed to be? I havent heard of any programs corrupting .mp2 files when the original is split... Let me know.

I'll do my best to get you up and running.

  12. QuickTime & iTunes will play them but VLC fails and mpeginfo doesn't display any info regarding these files.

I have tried different Movies, all of them having same problem. Still no dice on remux.

    Thanks for listening.
