  1. I have about 2hrs worth of PAL miniDV footage that I edited and encoded in Ulead VS6 as 8 separate mpgs - video at VBR 6k max and audio in MPEG L2 format. I want to burn them on a DVD and create a nice menu with 4 items in each menu.

I have been using MyDVD 4 so far. However, I wanted to step up and was looking to get a more flexible DVD authoring application that allowed me to put a small intro as first play and then place 4 thumbnails where I wanted on the menu and different backgrounds and music for each menu. This is my problem:

I downloaded both trial versions and created the menus (audio was mp3 in DVDWorkshop and WAV in DVD lab) and then 'burnt' the DVD to harddrive to view on WinDVD first.

With DVDWorkshop, everything plays fine except I get no sound in one clip at all. I tried to change the audio setting on reencoding in DVDWorkshop, nothing worked - note when I preview it in DVDWorkshop, I can hear the audio. When I checked the files through DVDShrink, it seems the audio is missing for that clip.

With DVD-lab, the music played ok through the menus. However when I play each clip, i can only hear the first 7 seconds of each clip and then there is no sound.

Can anyone give me any clue what could possibly be wrong? When I use myDVD, everything played fine, so i am assuming the mpg files are fine. (I would rather not go have to encode the avi files again if I could avoid it).

    Thanks!!
