  1. I got sent a link in an e-mail to download a video from a site seems to have downloaded ok but i cannot play it when i click on properties it says it's a linkrd html document is there anyway to play this

    Can you be more specific about the file type, length, software you tried using etc?

  3. the file was 16.4mb and tried playing it in windows media player 9 it says file type is html document

    If it is really an HTML file, you should be able to open it in a text editor. Try that. If that doesn't work, which it probably won't, use windows explorer and try changing the name of the file extension to something else, like .dat or .mpg and see if that works.

  6. Looks like you have an extention naming problem and you may wind up having a codec problem also. Try renaming the extention .avi and .mpg, if it still won't play or thumbnail try GSpot and see if it will tell you what codec it is using.

    Or, try downloading the file again(?) this time double check the default name.
