DVDXCopy Express is good for compressing the DVD-9 DVD to a recordable DVD-5.
DVDXCopy did not break Star Trek The Next Generation R1 and X Files R1 and Roxette Greatest Hits Video R2 DVD properly. For TNG and X Files (4 episodes per DVD compiled as a single VTS tile set 1-7) it would only accept episode1/ tile 1 for disc 1 and episode 2/ title 2 for disc 2, completely ignoring and eliminating episodes 3 and 4/ titles 3 and 4. Thus no way to backup the second half of the DVD. For Roxette, the end result was the same, only 2 gigs per back-up DVD instead of the needed 3-4 gigs per disc. For these episode titles, I have great sucess using Elaborate Bytes CloneDVD 1.2.8.4 for backup and IfoEdit 0.96 to bypass the unwanted "gray screens". -
I'm sure the latest CloneDVD doesn't have the grey areas anymore

MackemX is correct. Elaborate Bytes CloneDVD 1.3.9.8 no longer has the gray screens. But keep in mind there are at least 2 CloneDVD out on the market that are completely different
