  1. Right people I have £2200 in the back burner. Which much to the missus's dismay is being spunked on a shiny new laptop.

I am in the UK what do you recommend ?. I have been looking at th Hi-Grade Notino 6700 - 1500 - 1

    Centrino 1.7
    Xp Pro
    80 Gb HD
    1024 DDR
DVD Burner (not sure what type)

I am not interested in a P4, must be a centrino.

    Thanks for your time.

Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  3. I really want top spec so I could buy from them but it would not be what I am after. I can get from work on their discount the IBM T40 for £1800 - thats £3400 on dabs but the spec is worse than the notino. Do they charge all this extra cash just cause it's an ibm ?

Dunno about those sold in the UK but if I had that kind of cash for a laptop I'd be getting a Sony Vaio, one of the little ones. Onboard WiFi (802.11g now I believe) as well as a host of other onboard features make it hard to beat (like FireWire).

  5. The latest vaio I have seen in the UK is the PCGz1RSP. I go on holiday to Oz in a month so I could get it at the airport for £1700.

It looks really good but only has 14inch screen, 512mb of ram and a 16mb graphic card also no dvd writer and it is 802.11b and not g.

But as you say they look really cool.
