Hi, I currently am using my DVD, this is very basic software and very limite4d in menue creation etc. However i love it cause i can capture in MPEG2 in realtime & i only have a cheapo Firewire card.

Is there any software that can be used to burn my mpeg2 files captured with my dvd in realtime without having to wait an hour or so for them to be encoded with my dvd for burning.

    Thanks for your help

  2. I thought version 3.xx and 4.xx of MyDVD captured to mpeg2/pcm which is dvd compliant and would burn without further encode. Is that not the case?

It still encodes something and takes a good hour for a full dvd @ 4 speed. It usually says splitting audio and video and encoding for dvd format just the usual encoding messages, which is pretty stupid cause its already encoded for dvd video compliance.

  4. Are you doing any editing? Even trimming off the end of the original capture will cause MyDVD to re-encode the entire video.
