  1. I have been using Videostudio 6 to make a movie of video clips and images for a wedding reception...the bride and groom's life to date. So far things are going well but I have two questions.

1 Is there a way of combining/merging several Videostudio projects into one without rendering each project into a sperate video file and combining the files.

2 Has anyone seen any examples of this type of movie....I'm looking for ideas.

    Thanks.....

You do not have to rerender each clip. For instance, when you take the clip of the bride as a litle girl, mark in and mark out what part of the clip you want, select apply. Do not render, just drag the clip from the storyboard and drop it on the side. Grab the groom's Pop Warner Football highlights. Mark in/out. Drag and and drop this clip on the side as well.

If you notice there are now two images on the side of each clip: the original and the "edited" ones you made. You have not altered the original clips in any way. You only told VS 6 what part of these you want to use when you drop the new icon on the storyboard line. Keep doing this until you have all the scenes you want.

Start dropping the new clips back on the storyboard where you want them, add the transitions, filters, sounds. etc. Now select Finish. This time the program will render the final product. So you only have to render once (twice if you noticed Tgpo took off his top again during the wedding cake ceremony). Hope this helps.

  3. Lets say I had 3 parts to the video, part 1, part 2, and part 3 and each was a Videostudio project. Is there a way of merging the 3 projects together into one project. Ideally I'd like to keep them apart and merge them fron time to time to see the total result and to author the final movie. Is this possible??

    Thanks....

The only way I can think of to do it would be to load each project separately and and drag and drop each clip as before. Then rearrannge them the way you want them, the render them that way. As long as you do not save the projects again, they will still be there the next time you need them.

  5. It sounds like you're saying it can't be done which is what I think. On the other front, do you know of web sites that would have examples of the type of movie I'm trying to create?

    Thanks....
