I'll guess you need to use a font with chinese symbols... maybe you can change the font?

I sympathize with you... I can't create Chinese lyrics either.

Do you think I have to have chinese Operating system to do this?
I suspect you do. And probably a Chinese version of whatever software you're using, as well. I understand that major software publishers do produce foreign language versions of most of the software that they publish. Ulead, which I believe is based in Taiwan, should have Chinese DVD authoring software. -
You need a way to output the Chinese characters as BMP files. I once made a Japanese sub stream (SVCD) but doing this. But for the life of me I can't remember what programs I used. I think JWPce and some text -> graphic thing I d/loaded from download.com (something to create texted based screensavers of something).
Anyway once you have the BMP file collection and a timed script you can mux the subs as normal. Not sure if these message really helps or not -
I will try the BMP thing and see if it works. Sounds little complicated for newbie like me. thks.

I don't know whether this will help or not since I have not
dealt with subtitles, but nowadays most major companies
design their software to be internationalized, i.e. easily
adapted to different localized fonts particularly unicode or
double-byte characters. If you are running Windows XP,
turn on the asian language support (control panel, language,
add asian language). This will install Chinese, Japanese,
and Korean fonts and system codes to handle these characters.
Secondly, add input method for Chinese (again control panel,
language, add input method). You can have a choice of different
keyboard methods: pinyin, phonetic etc. This allows you to
input the selected language characters. Then try your software
again to see if it works or not. For example, I can put double
byte characters in DVD-lab's menu text buttons. Even though
the characters display incorrectly in the text prompt dialog, they
show up without any problem in the menu. -
You might find it a bit difficult because of program support.
Chinese characters (Kanji) are so numerous, they require a DBCS (Double Byte Character Set) to display. That is 2 bytes for every symbol rather than 1. In Arabic, an 'A' is stored as Hex C1 , a 1 as Hex F1).
But in Kanji, a character might be C3D3 to represent one. This would be unrecognizable to most software packages even if it was recognized by an Asian ready Windows system.
Worth a try though... -
If you have the Chinese character fonts, using v-dub and sub station alpha might do what you require it would be a lot of typing but it might work. There is a guide here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/170420.php
Just shut up and listen dumbass -
Just like learner1 said, it works when I change the language input method to chinese
Thanks everyone.
