Have Probs with VirtDub audio?

The way I learned to encode files 2 mpegwas to run em thru vdub,with these settings,

vid- direct stream copy
audio- full process mode
then run em thru tmpge ,

well ive got like these 2 or 3 files
an when I try this it says

''No audio Decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format''

then again i know sometimes vdub isnt required in order to mpegg a file,
so i tried to run it straight thru tmpge
and it wouldnt open the audio part,

So my question is ,
Are there any other settings I could use in Vdub[or]Tmpge so this file can be trans 2 mpegg,? Or any other suggestions? or other software?

ive tried canopus before ,,not for this
but I just didnt care much for it,

Someone suggested Vdubplus ac3 or something like that,
but i couldnt figure it out, cause the settings were differnt
so i deleted it,

so if I do need the Vdub + or whatever its called ,,what settings should I use,
or maybe some directions,,

You are missing a codec, quite possible Ac3. Search the forum or look to the guides for details on how to best handle avi's with Ac3 audio, it is covered many times.

What does Gspot say for the audio? My ESP tells me it's AC3/5.1 , which VDUB will do only with the special version ( I personally have 5 versions co-resident, helps a lot despite eveything being different)

See when i got instructed on how 2 do all this encodeing stuff

an Ive never really tried to use Vdub any other way or for anything else.
So Vdub is still kinda greek 2 me,

so please kinda let me know how 2 set it up,
