  1. mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaan, this is pissing me off.

somebody please help. my method seems right, but it's not working.

    1. extracted ac3 audio from PAL AVI using goldwave, then converted it to 44.1 Hz wav for svcd.

    2. converted the 44.1 Hz wav into PAL --> NTSC 23.976 fps using besweet. the file is still in wav.

    3. load tmpgenc, load the PAL avi using the NTSC film template, then load the 44.1 Hz wav NTSC 23.976 fps file.

    4. convert, and enabling "do not frame rate conversion."

incidentally, when i do this, in the settings tab, "inverse telecine" is enabled by default (in other cases, it isn't). why? do i need to inverse telecine this file? i assume not because doesn't "inverse telecine" convert the frame rate to 24 fps? which isn't what i want, of course, since ntsc needs a frame rate of 23.976 fps or 29.97 fps, right?

i want to convert the pal avi to svcd so i can play it on my dvd player. and yes, i am 100% that my dvd player doesn't support PAL. pioneer dv-440 is my model, and thus far i have not found a "hack" that'll enable PAL support.

Try loading the original AVI into VirtualDubMod. For AUDIO 1 select NO ADUIO and do the same for AUDIO 2

Now go to FRAME RATE under VIDEO and change it from 25.000fps to 23.976fps

Again under VIDEO select DIRECT STREAM COPY

SAVE AS AVI (F7) and select a name for the new file.

You now have an exact copy of the original but with no sound and at a NTSC frame rate of 23.976fps

Now load this into TMPGEnc along with the BeSweet converted WAV file and all should be fine.

Do NOT check the DO NOT FRAME RATE CONVERSION option.

This should worj assuming that the AVI is either DivX/Xvid.
