As the subject says I'm attemting to convert a 2.35:1 divx to a DVD and and I want to keep the same aspect ratio. I tried converting in ffmpegX and everything worked fine but when I use Sizzle to make a .dmg file the video ends up being squashed or stretched to fit into either 4:3 or 16:9 which are both the wrong size.

Is there anyway to make a DVD with a 2.35:1 ratio and if not is there anyway to add letterbox type bars to the video to make it a 16:9 mpeg without any distortion?

    thanks for any help

  2. Try autosize=DVD 16:9 and use "Decode with quicktime".

    Where is "Decode with QuickTime?"

  4. In the Options tab after selecting the DVD Quick preset.

Is there any way to do this using the ffmpeg codec? I ask because on my computer mpeg2enc takes about 3 and a half days to do a 140 min movie.

    Thanks

  6. No, but I will add aspect ratio control for ffmpeg engine soon.
