HELP! WHEN CONVERTING SVCD!!! NO PICTURE!!!

HEY! I'm converting some old video I took a long time ago that I recorded onto the computer using JPEG compression .avi format. When I convert I get no picture (just black), audio is fine. Please help! Thanks!

what are you playing the file on?

If PC then mediaplayer can't play mpg2 files... use a dvd player software package.

When it's converting there is no picture, when in my dvd player no pic and when I use my computer DVD software, no pic.

If you try opening in media player do you get a picture.

If not then you no longer have the mjpeg codec loaded.

CHeck this first.

Yeeah i would have to say no mJPEG codec. why do you use that anyway, its a load of rubbish. you cant get same quality with 1000x smaller file size with mpeg-4
goto http://www.mpegx.com for a range of mJPEG codecs, be careful though, 1 of them is an absolute shocker.

I'M SURE THAT YOUR PROBLEM IS ABOUT VFAPI CONIGURATION ON TMPGenc SOFTWARE.
Set your avi codec to the highest priority and try to encode it again. While you don't get see picture at same time of encoding the resulted will be only sound.

Thanks, I don't use jpeg codec anymore, I use divx. It was the first thing I did on my computer and i didn't know any better.

what program are you using to convert?? Can you play the vid??

Using TMPEGEnc, I can watch the vid with and viewing program but just black as the pic.
