  1. Hi I have a samsung 40x cd writter. I have been making backup copies of some of my games due to my girlfriends brothers borrowing them and causing scratching.

Anyway, on 90% of backups I receive an error message at the final stage of the burning process, and I am after a way of creating a 100% perfect backup without errors.

I can send anyone the log file which will show someone who understands them what is going wrong or what I am doing wrong.

I would appreciate any help as well, thanks

  3. What speed do you burn at? Try burning slower. What kinda game platform is it?

  4. maybe you should try CloneCD, Alcohol 120%, or Blindwrite Suite as they specialize in copying games, even with protections and copyrights.

  5. It is a PS2 game that I am trying to backup.

I have tried Nero (even the new version) and Alcohol 120% but both give me an error message.

As I said I have got a log file (*.txt) of what happens and the error that occurs, if anyone understands these then I can e-mail you the Nero Error Log of what actually happens when I try to burn a backup.

I've tried burning at 24x and 12x but still get the same result. Also my OS is Win XP.

  6. the game is CD based rite?

    try some sites like

    afterdawn.com
www.ps2ownz.com - good site with lots of useful links, also search for "ps2" on p2p networks and youll find some useful docs.

Sounds like you are trying to copy a badly scratched game try repairing it with a disk doctor before you copy them also copy to the hard drive first and dont do disk to disk

  8. Games aren't scratched, I tried copying to my HDD but it just seems to take forever. Do you reckon I could do with a reformat or summet and start again?

What are disk doctors? And where can I get them from?

Cheers for the links as well, I'll check them out
