I see the Panasonic Recorders have 5 recording speeds,
FP=will fit best quality to fill up DVD
XP=Best Quality???
SP=High Quality 1 Hour (Assume 8000MBps)
LP= Medium Quality = 2 Hour (Assume 4000MBps)
EP=Low quality = ? Hour
I have 2 questions, is the EP speed 4 or 6 hours??? (Assume is 4 hour = 2000MBps, 6 hour = 1500MBps)
And what is XP, I assumed SP (1 hour/8000MBps) was pretty much best quality, SOoooo is SP = VBR and XP=CBR??? or is it above 8000MBps??? or is none of those, what exactly is XP (if it can be explained)?

Sorry, found online PDF of machines... Was wrong across the board...
XP = High = 1 Hour (assume 8000MBps)
SP = Normal = 2 Hour (assume 4000MBps)
LP = Long = 4 Hour (assume 2000MBps)
ELP = Extended Long = 6 Hour (assume 1500MBps) YECH!!!
I thought that many of these units only had 3 quality settings (maybe the earlier models???)Cendyne/Pioneer 105 & 104 with a Dazzle* Hollywood DV-Bridge. -
You can of course check the bitrate with the E80/E100. I've found that XP recordings run 7 - 10 MBps, SP 6 - 8 MBps, FR is something in between depending on the source material. What I want to know is how much the bitrate will change if you choose to not use the default recording settings (since all of them are adjustable)...
