Hi,
I seem to be having some problems with Aspect Ratios. I backup a film and play the backup on my PC and all seems fine - it seems to be in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. When I then use DVD shrink to shrink it and Nero to Burn it, and then play it on my Panasonic DVD player, i no longer have the black bars top and bottom, and seem to be missing some of the picture on the left and right edges.
Does anyone have any ideas why this could be? Could there be some IFO setting that is not being read by the DVD player crrectly, or maybe DVDshrink misses one?
Thanks a lot
Barney

TV screens, unlike PC monitors, suffer from "overscan". How much depends on the make and model (and perhaps even individual TV), but on a TV, a bit gets chopped off (is outside the viewable area) top, bottom, left and right. When a movie is made, this is taken into account (don't let anything significant happen at the outer edges of the scene).
