Best audio editor?

I have an audio file, and want to insert part of another audio file into the middle. What is the best (and easiest) software to use?

If not insert, I may be able to get away with joining the two audio samples, but I will need to trim the begining / end of the tracks. Again, what is the best program, with as little "jump / skip" as possible?

If you use Nero ROM for burning, then try the included Nero Wave Editor. It will easily do the insertion you describe. Not sure it's the "best", but it does work and if you already have it, then give it a try--costs nothing extra.
