Sure... you can add a new audio track in Quicktime for the same movie just as easily as you added another thread to this forum regarding your same problem. 8) 8) 8)

    Seriously though...

    This can be done.

Once you have your audio track all set, just go into quicktime and SELECT ALL, then copy your audio track to the clipboard.

Then go to your movie track, and select all and click on EDIT --> ADD.

    That's it.

If file size is no object you can always convert the audio only to PCM by way of Mencoder, which will then play back directly in Quicktime with no further modification.

If Quicktime is no object, just use VLC. Download the program at www.videolan.org and launch it one time. Then go to your .avi file in the finder and hit CMD+I to get info. Under OPEN WITH, change it to VLC then select CHANGE ALL. Then all your .avi files will open in VLC and your playback problems are gone forever.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Touche' ZeroSix...Touche'...

i'm gonna try your method as soon as i try another method just offered in the other thread. another thing, the whole reason i want these to play in QT is so that i can burn them to DVD using toast 6. if they dont play in QT, they dont burn.

I have a fix for you.

Use the Mencoder method as mentioned above. It will make a file playable by quicktime, thus burnable/convertible in Toast 6.

by using Mencoder you will only be changing the audio from MP3 to WAVE and keeping the video in tact. This is a VERY fast process and would solve your problems in one step.

Glad to help... just let me know if you need anything else.
