How do I use sub titles that are .sub?

The answer to your question is totally dependant on the player you are using...
I use WMP9 so, I use SubTitleWorkshop to convert any subtitle file to .smi format which is an XML file which is supported by WMP9. When using WMP9, the .smi file must be named the same as the movie file and reside in the same folder. -

just install Directvobsub (part of vobsusb) and play with BSPlayer, THe Core Media Player, MplayerC, or any others that supports subs. Diectvobsub supports .sub files!
