I just converted a movie from avi to mpeg1 (too put it on a vcd). The movie is 82 min. so I should still be able to fit it on an 80 min. cd. But my problem is that the mpeg file is too big. It's 810 mb and nero won't accept it. Is there anyway to make it fit or shrink the size of the mpeg file so that I could fit the movie on one cd. Thx for the help.

your best bet would probably be to re-encode the movie
nero is flexible with how much you can actually burn to a cd but i dont think there is a way to fit 810 mb on a cd
if you decide to reincode, the best way to make the movie smaller without an obvious difference is to encode it with slightly lower audio settings
give it a shot
lemme know
