Can anyone help me figure out how to do this so I can create a tutorial for my website?

I came across a dvd I just bought that i want to back up, but for some ungodly reason there are 211 files in the video_ts folder. examing them most of them are crap (trailers, extras that are just stupid...)

I figure the best way would be to just do a movie only copy, but call me crazy but I like to be able to have scene selection and menu (even if only the play button and scene selection movie is the only thing that works)
There are probably others out there would would also like to this because of the fact that movie only copy is better quality but perhaps you dont want to loose the scene selection ability.

the total VIDEO_TS size is 7.05 gigs which is typical of a standard dvd.
now if you look just only at the first part of this folder down to where the movie .vob's end the file size is exactly 4.34 gigs.

    Example: (Three parts)
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.VOB

    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.VOB (Menu screen, scene selection screen, extras screen)
VTS_01_1.VOB (screen saying film is rated PG-13)

    VTS_02_0.IFO
    VTS_02_0.BUP
    VTS_02_0.VOB (black screen small intro)
    VTS_02_1.VOB (1023.8 meg movie files)
    VTS_02_2.VOB (1023.8 meg movie files)
    VTS_02_3.VOB (1023.8 meg movie files)
    VTS_02_4.VOB (1023.8 meg movie files)
    VTS_02_5.VOB (202 meg movie files)

normally there would be endless amounts of VTS_03, 04, 05 ...... down to something like 50!

so, I know there is a way to edit the ifo/.bup structure to make it so that when you just have this part it will play in dvd player and a burned dvd but im not exactly sure how to go about this.

ive toyed around with IFOEDIT under VPC but nothing seems to do anything that makes it play in dvd player.

any way to do this within OSX?
anyone know if this can be done with IFOedit?

I've found that if are just wanting to play it on your computer that if you leave the .ifo and the .bup files that you can delete the .vob files and the DVD will still play fine. I did that for a recent trip I went on. I backuped the DVD, but I didn't want the fullscreen version. So I deleted just the .vob files and Apple DVD Player still played it perfectly.

As for editting the .ifo files so that it plays properly on a standalone....I have no idea.
