I converted some AVI's to SVCD succesfully, but my AVI's are interlaced (TMPGenc tells me it is) but I didn't use the deinterlace filter. If I use this will my video look better. If so then I need to re-encode 14 episodes

PS Should I always use "Do Not Framerate Conversion" filter when I have a 25 fps file that I need to convert to 25fps.

  2. Interlaced video is intended for television viewing, so no, you dont have to reencode all of your AVIs if this is what you converted for. If you encoded to SVCD for PC viewing, I reccommend using a software DVD player's deinterlaced playback filter so it wont look "weird" on your PC monitor.

If your source is interlaced, and you plan to watch on tv, YES!

EDIT: I may have misunderstood your question.... Just to be absolutely clear... leave interlace footage as interlaced,... never deinterlace interlaced footage if you plan to watch it on tv.
