  1. Hi there, just a quick question. Is it necessary to have dvd hadware in your system to re-encode mpeg files to dvd compliant mpeg's or svcd to dvd compliant mpeg's?

Trying to join mpeg files and re-encode using tmpge but whatever i throw at it it says that the file is unsupported.

I have a cd/rw sitting in the pc at the moment and a pioneer 106 waiting to go in the system.

    Thanx for looking

  3. Thanx for the info, but the reason i am asking is because i have all the relevent codec's installed and have done this a hundred times before. The merged mpeg files show as mpeg2 files but tmpge dvd author wont touch them. Ulead dvd Movie Factory 2 wont touch them. Tmpge Plus wont touch the files extracted from the bin file using vcdgear so i am a little lost.

Once the 106 does not fix the problem, see if AviSynth will load the file into TMPGEnc for you. If not, see if Virtual Dub mod will load the video. If it does, frameserve it to TMPGEnc.
    Hello.
