I don't know wheter they allow the direct posting of coupon codes on this forum, so I'll just reference http://www.fatwallet.com here. Go to their forums, look for "50 Pack Memorex 4x DVD Media for $49.87+tax at Officedepot AC"

You buy two packages of 25 disks, either +R or -R, use a coupon for "buy 1, get 1 free" and then another coupon for $10 off $50 purchase. I just did this online, worked like a champ. Total for me was $53.73, including tax and free shipping. $1.08 a piece for name brand 4X DVD+R media -- I have done like MrBass and given up on the DVD-R media, +R just works better for me.

  4. I hear the Memorex DVD-R are really bad quality. I am wanting to pick up 50/100 dvd-rs that are 2x or 4x (104 burner) and this is a good deal, but I dont want to waste money or low grade disks, is this true?

Memorex are in no way bad quality. I have had great sucess and it's the only one's I have been burning of late. All my writers like em.

  7. there's a distinction between the longevity of the media, player compatibility, and the mere ability for it to write well. maybe the -s write well for you but are not supposed to be as good in the other departments.

I haven't seen any tech data, but I've been using them as well as others since the first DVD writer came out. I don't check my back-ups weekly, but routinely pull a DVD to watch that was recorded 1 1/2 years ago. I don't think any one has any data, longer than when DVD writers first came out. So if you have this so called data, please post it. There are no what ifs here. Personal experience is the real decider.

  10. The Memorex DVD+Rs are great. I've never had a problem with them.

But this time, Office Depot was out of the +s, so I bought the DVD-R, since I have a dual format burner.

    Big Mistake.

First disc out of the spindle burned sucessfully on my Sony, but then would not play in either a computer DVD player or on my Standalone player. Windows could not even detect the disc.

The Memorex DVD-R are made by CMC. I heard the horror stories but thought that they might have got their act together.

I returning the discs for an exchange for DVD+Rs.
