Hi,

I have 3 faults, has anyone else experienced these following problems?

1) Situation: Trying to Timer record 2 or more different programs onto DVD+RW.

Problem: When I timer record the second program it overwrites the 1st program, I am left with only 4, or so, minutes at the start of the 1st program.

Checks done: I've made sure the lengths of the programs were ok for the disc. I’ve checked the record mode. Also the timer settings are correct.

2) Situation: DVD-R recorded from PC.

Problem: Will not play, either comes up with 'Empty Disc' or 'Disc Error'.

Checks: Made sure the Disc was the correct 'region'. Played on a cheap player with no trouble at all.

3) Situation: Recording a DVD+RW to play on another machine.

Problem: Picture on playback, on the other machine, freezes badly! But after a second play on my DVD recorder will also freeze, but not so badly. Freezing gets worse the longer the DVD player is on.

Checks: The other DVD player is a Marantz (Part of Philips) Tried different discs and seems to have alleviated the problem. But the discs that were giving the problems were Philips discs. I am using Memorex discs, but how many recordings can I make on these discs before they go bad? I had only made 2 or 3 generations of recordings on the Philips DVD+RW discs before they gave up the ghost.

I've sent e-mails to Philips, and replied to their product survey response e-mails (Not very good, with regard their DVD recorders)
