    Got mine in oct 2003 and thanks to this site burned my first dvd within the hour with success i might add.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

    hmm.. someone woke this post up :P

    Well, after my unsuccessful Cyndine (spelling) I went out and got myself a
    OptoRite (DD0201) and coudn't be happier, and it burns perfectly (using ifoEDIT)
    every time, to either R/RW's :P - - yippy.

    That one, I got in late 2003.

    So far, my prefered method of making DVD projects are:

    * Source -> advc-100 -> dvio -> vdub[.avs script] -> [vdub] -> tmpg -> ifoEDIT -> nero

    - - - -

    The above works every time ..and couple that w/ my new hobby addition..
    Laserdisc movies ( 8" disks 8O ) oh my hehe..

    i got my first dvd burner for my birthday middle of last year(2003).

    fyi:most hated burner of all time(sony dru-510a)

    burned a lot of different things since then(mostly back-up movie/tv series for my girl).

    June 2002. Bought a Panny LF-D311, they were calling the drive "Rambo" at the time. After over 2,000 burns it's still going strong.
